The Real Madrid management post is shrouded in mystery and rumor. Carlo Ancelotti led the team to a Champions League and La Liga double last season, exceeding expectations. The club started well this season, but injuries and fatigue have taken their toll on a team that was lacking in depth from the outset.
At the present, the management position at Real Madrid is surrounded by a great deal of mystery and speculation. During the previous season, Carlo Ancelotti well surpassed everyone’s expectations and guided the squad to a double championship in the Champions League and La Liga. This time around, the club had gotten off to a good start as well, but as the season has progressed, injuries and tiredness look to have taken their toll on a group that has been lacking in depth from the very beginning of the season.
Real Madrid is now facing a number of challenges. They have not won any of their last three contests, which is a losing streak for them. In the race for the La Liga championship, the team coached by Ancelotti is now nine points behind Barcelona. In the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals, which took place at the Santiago Bernabeu, they were again unsuccessful in their matchup against Xavi’s club and ended up losing. It would appear that their best opportunity to win a trophy this season is to do well in the Champions League.
In the event that they fail to win any trophies, which would be their most worst-case scenario, it is highly likely that Ancelotti will be relieved of his managerial duties. And it would appear that the club is looking into the prospect of employing a manager who has already worked in the Premier League. This would be an interesting choice for the club to make.
According to Defensa Central’s reporting, Real Madrid is apparently interested in hiring Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur (via The Hard Tackle). They are contemplating having the Argentine manager take over as head coach of the team if Carlo Ancelotti steps down.
In the past, there have been a few instances in which the name of Pochettino has been mentioned in connection with Real Madrid. However, the relocation has not yet been carried out in practice.
On the other side, Pochettino does not currently have a job and is looking for a club to manage. His most recent position was as manager of Paris Saint-Germain, where he was mainly unsuccessful due to his inability to coax the best performances out of the superstar front three consisting of Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Neymar. His most recent role was at Paris Saint-Germain. During the period that the Argentine was in Paris, the French giants were able to bring home hardware, but they were ultimately unsuccessful in achieving their major ambition, which was to win the Champions League.
The fact that Pochettino is currently one of the best managers in the game is in no way impacted by the revelations included in this piece of information. This was evident during his time as manager of Tottenham Hotspur, whom he guided all the way to the final of the Champions League and also put them in contention for a couple of titles in the Premier League. During this time, he also won the Premier League twice. It is not accurate to say that his time spent at PSG was wasted in any way, and it would be unfair to do so.
