Liverpool eye ‘Titan’ defender known as ‘talent of century’, Matip will say goodbye

This summer, sources claim Liverpool has entered the competition to capture Chelsea defender Levi Colwill.

Although the Premier League center back’s performances at Brighton’s The Amex have drawn attention, the Seagulls do not have the option to purchase him in the summer. He is now on a season-long loan there.

According to 90min, Graham Potter’s staff is hesitant to allow the 20-year-old depart on a permanent basis because they think he will contribute to the first team when he returns at the end of the year.

Yet after a recent development, it sounds like Jurgen Klopp still thinks a deal is possible.

Liverpool is ‘following’ Colwill, according to Football Insider, as they ‘plan a move’ ahead of the 2023–24 season.

The 6 foot 2 colossus “meets the bill” for what the Reds are seeking for in a center-back, according to the Reds, and Klopp’s backroom staff is “really impressed” by what they have previously seen of him.

Colwill has been regarded as a “rising star” by journalist Simon Johnson, and he would be a great addition to Liverpool’s roster going forward.

The Southampton-born player presently ranks in the 97th percentile for most centre-back passes attempted and averages 2.1 aerial victories and two clearances per top-flight game, according to WhoScored.

The Stamford Bridge academy grad’s versatility in addition to his ability to play in midfield and at left back is a nice addition.

Colwill’s attributes will be immensely intriguing to Klopp and having already made two appearances for England’s U21s, has a great career ahead of him.

Liverpool keen on signing €45m ‘Matip 2.0’ in summer, Ten Hag also loves him

Towards the end of the current campaign, Jurrien Timber, an Ajax defender, is a target for both Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur.

According to 90Min, Timber is attempting to find a transfer outside of Amsterdam this summer.

According to reports, Timber has instructed his agents to look into potential suitors well before the transfer market opens.

There is already a lot of interest; Manchester United has been a longtime supporter, and Erik ten Hag is a big Timber fan from their time together at Ajax.

Ten Hag is said to adore Timber and would “take him tomorrow” if United and Ajax could come to an agreement.

Marseille, Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, and Liverpool are also rumored to be interested, in addition to Tottenham and Liverpool.

Although Timber’s contract expires in 2025, a move to the Premier League for the center back this summer is suddenly possible.

CHANGE AT TOTTENHAM IS BETTER FOR JURRIEN TIMBER

Virgil van Dijk would be thrilled to see Timber, a 21-year-old great center back prospect, join Liverpool.

Van Dijk thinks Timber has “so much promise” and calls him a “fantastic talent,” predicting a bright future for him.

Although Liverpool might be interested, Tottenham might be a better fit for him.

Josko Gvardiol, Levi Colwill, Max Kilman, and Nayef Aguerd have all recently been linked to Liverpool, suggesting that they are looking to add a natural left-sided defender this summer.

Right-footers like Timber might fit Joe Gomez’s profile because Liverpool appears to be prioritizing a different kind of defender.

With Cristian Romero in the center of Tottenham’s back three, signing Timber might allow him to play where he did for Atalanta, on the right flank.

Timber can give the Tottenham defense some serious speed, and hopefully does better than Davinson Sanchez, the last Ajax-signed defender Spurs brought in.

Spurs’ decision to make this change makes sense, but only if they want to continue playing with a back three going forward.

Although Manchester United may be the team most interested in acquiring Timber, Liverpool and Tottenham are also worth monitoring.
