Manchester United will reportedly look to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga in a deal worth €130 million this summer.
A story that was published by a Spanish news organization called Defensa Central stated that Manchester United is reportedly interested in signing Eduardo Camavinga. In order to get the services of the Real Madrid midfielder, the Red Devils are prepared to offer €130 million in compensation. But, Los Blancos will not consider any proposals for the French central midfielder during the summer window for player transfers.
Before moving to Stade Rennais in 2013, Eduardo Camavinga spent the majority of his youth career playing for Drapeau-Fougeres. After that, he worked his way up through the youth system at the French club and eventually made his debut with the first squad when he was just a teenager. And the young player, who was only 20 years old at the time, invariably became a desirable commodity in the market before Real Madrid acquired him in August of 2021.
Since then, the French central midfielder has made significant development despite his lack of consistent playing time for Real Madrid. In 79 career matches for Real Madrid, the teenager has contributed to the team with two goals and three assists. And Camavinga’s value continues to rise, with Manchester United apparently showing interest in acquiring his services.
Despite having added two midfielders during the offseason of the previous year, Manchester United plans to continue their search for a third to add to their roster. But, Christian Eriksen is well past the age of 30, and he lacks the stamina necessary to play for an extended period of time. In addition, Marcel Sabitzer will be going back to Bayern Munich at the conclusion of the current season, and the future of Scott McTominay is now unknown.
According to several recent reports, Manchester United may explore the possibility of permanently adding Sabitzer to their roster this coming summer. Yet, the Red Devils are not closing any doors, particularly in light of the fiasco that occurred with Frenkie de Jong the previous season. It’s interesting to note that Manchester United is still interested in signing de Jong. On the other hand, Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga has become a potential alternative.
Throughout the month of January, a number of Premier League clubs expressed interest in acquiring the 20-year-old player. But, Real Madrid did not consider any of the bids for the young player during the winter transfer window. In the next months, Manchester United will try to gauge Real Madrid’s willingness to negotiate by submitting a bid of 130 million euros. A sum as significant as €130 million has the potential to sway the decision-making of any club.
Camavinga, however, will not be moving to another club during the summer transfer window for Real Madrid. The Frenchman has been employed by Santiago Bernabeu for only two years, thus it is quite improbable that he will try to leave the club. Thus, Manchester United will need to find a replacement for the youngster during this summer’s transfer window.
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag eyeing summer deal for 22-year-old Eredivisie striker
According to talkSPORT (h/t Manchester Evening News), Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reportedly placed Mohammed Kudus, a standout player for Ajax Amsterdam, to the club’s “list of targets” in advance of the forthcoming transfer season.
The Ghana international’s autograph is something that the Red Devils are interested in. It is currently unknown whether or not the Old Trafford club will make an effort to secure the 22-year-old player’s services in the months ahead.
In the summer of 2020, Kudus became a member of De Godenzonen. During that time period, Ten Hag served as the captain of the Eredivisie team. The Dutch manager used the forward as a bit-part player during his tenure, with the forward coming off the bench the majority of the time. The mantle, however, has been picked up by the Ghana international player during the current campaign for the Amsterdam-based club. He has stepped up to the plate for the Dutch team.
The 22-year-old has been the talisman for the Johan Cruyff Arena team since since He joined United. This season, he has played in a total of 34 games across all competitions, during which he has scored 17 goals and provided four assists.
Kudus is a versatile player. For the 2022–2023 season, he has been playing center forward the most of the time. The Ghanaian, on the other hand, has experience playing both on the right flank and in the number 10 position. He can also play in either position. The young man, who is only 22 years old, also captured a lot of people’s attention with his play at the 2022 World Cup, which was held in Qatar. In spite of their best efforts, the Black Stars were unable to go past the group stage of the coveted competition.
At this point in time, it is obvious that the Old Trafford side does not have enough attacking depth. There are only two natural strikers on the team, and those attackers are Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst. However, the French international has not been able to participate in the majority of this season due to fitness concerns. Ten Hag is well familiar with Kudus, a gifted forward who plays in the front position. The acquisitions of Antony and Lisandro Martinez from Ajax were, all things considered, not terrible moves. Would the Dutch boss bring in another player from his time at the Manchester club that currently employs the Ghanaian forward? The only way to know is to wait.
