Jamie Carragher makes fun of Man Utd legend Peter Schmeichel with 7UP can

Jamie Carragher mocks Man United legend Peter Schmeichel with a can of 7UP and regular references to the number seven on during CBS’ Champions League coverage after Liverpool’s huge win over Red Devils

Jamie Carragher hilariously mocked Peter Schmeichel on live television over Liverpool’s 7-0 win over Manchester United.

The former Liverpool defender was still reveling in the historic win over their гιᴠals during CBS’ live Champions League coverage.

Schmeichel, who was also on the broadcast, is a United legend, having made over 400 appearances for the side in his playing career.

The former goalkeeper was a pundit for the game between Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund at Stamford Bridge.

Carragher, all smiles, mocked Schmeichel with a can of 7UP on his desk and regular references to the number seven on the show.

Peter Schmeichel was aware of the gag and joked that he couldn’t hear Carragher

Speaking to Schmeichel, who was at the ground with Carragher in the studio, Carragher said: ‘Peter, we’re getting to that stage now with the Champions League where we’re getting into March, the seventh of March, for me it feels really important now.

‘These games are cut throat, as I said, into March on the seventh, how important does it feel being at the Bridge?’

He added: ‘Jude Bellingham’s there, he’s a superstar. We feel he’s going to move on in the summer, what type of price tag are we talking about? We feel it will have to start with a seven and you go from there.’

With Schmeichel aware of the gag, but the presenter none the wiser, Carragher continued: ‘Peter, you’re going to be at AC Milan tomorrow, how big a problem would that be if they go out of the Champions League?

‘We are talking about the seven-time winners, I мean seven times winning the Champions League.’

Schmeichel, having previously suggested he couldn’t hear Carragher’s comments, finally replied: ‘Are we seven points ahead of you?’

Carragher added: ‘Don’t worry, we’re enjoying our 7UP!’

Chelsea came from behind to defeat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 on aggregate at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea came from behind to win on the night, scoring twice to defeat Dortmund 3-2 on aggregate.

Raheem Sterling scored in the first half before Kai Havertz netted the winner from the spot in the second period.

There was controversy around the penalty with Havertz initially hitting the post before it was retaken.

Several Dortmund players were adjudged to have encroached in the area when the kιϲk was taken, and Havertz scored on the second attempt.

Graham Potter relishes ‘Jurgen Klopp moment’ with crowd on his best night at Chelsea

Graham Potter channelled his inner Jurgen Klopp, punching the air in front of the raucous Chelsea fans.

The West Londoners showed incredible spirit and even better quality to overcome Borussia Dortmund and book their place in the Champions League quarter-final. Goals from Raheem Sterling and a penalty from Kai Havertz secured a season-preserving win for the West Londoners.

It may have even brought Potter even more trust from the Chelsea board and, most crucially, some much needed credit in the bank amongst a fan base who have so often turned against him. And he sealed the victory with a fist-bump that was very similar to one Klopp likes to do after Liverpool victories.

“Graham Potter just fist-bumped the crowd. So refreshing to see,” one Chelsea fan said on social media. “Graham Potter thought he was Klopp with those fist pumps,” another гιᴠal fan laughed on social media.

“Is Potter trying that Klopp fist pump? Well deserved win by Chelsea tonight. Dortmund was completely outplayed,” another гιᴠal fan commented, who evidently decided Potter deserved his moment of victory.

“Potter doing a Klopp…punching hands in the air haha,” laughed another supporter, before one other tweeted, “Potter doing the Klopp fist pumps”.

Potter celebrated with his fans after Chelsea secured the win

With the Blues still trailing the top four by 11 points, Chelsea’s season may have been all but over had they not overcome Dortmund. The Blues came into the contest trailing 1-0 after Edin Terzig’s side squeezed out a 1-0 victory in the first leg.

However, there was intensity, drive, and ambition in the Blues’ ɑttɑϲk, who pressed the current Bundesliga League leaders all over the pitch. On paper, this was a 50/50 ϲℓash, but Dortmund arrived at Stamford Bridge with a 12 match winning streak, while Chelsea had only recorded three victories in their last 15 matches.

гιᴠal fans may sneer and laugh at Potter and accuse him of mimicking Klopp, but that will do little to hamper his evening.
