However, due to the government’s attempt to politicize the activities of the FM station where he worked, Edochie and the entire management team resigned.

Despite being in line to become the Managing Director, he chose to pursue a career in the film industry. Prior to this decision, Edochie had already gained recognition for his role in the acclaimed film “Things Fall Apart,” which earned him an international award.

Throughout his career, Edochie has acted in numerous Nollywood movies and television series, amassing a total of 18 films to his credit. Some of his notable works include “No More War,” “Across the Niger,” “Living in Tears,” and “Billionaire Club.” His talent and versatility have made him a household name in the Nigerian entertainment industry.

Awards and Recognition:

Edochie’s contributions to the film industry have not gone unnoticed. He has been honored with prestigious awards and recognition, including the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) conferred by former President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2003.

Additionally, he received the Special Recognition Award at the Best of Nollywood (BON) Awards in 2013 and the Industry Merit Award at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards in 2014. Edochie’s lifetime achievements were acknowledged with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards in 2013.

Pete Edochie married Josephine Edochie at the age of 22, and the couple has been blessed with six children, including well-known actors Linc Edochie and Yul Edochie.
