In 1999, he became the Managing Director of Baze Research and Data Services Ltd, which he founded and later expanded into the Baze business group.

Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed’s political journey began when he was elected to the Federal House of Representatives in 2003, representing the Zaria Federal Constituency in Kaduna State under the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP). During President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration, he stood with lawmakers who opposed the idea of allowing Obasanjo to run for a third term. Despite his dedication and popularity, his victory as a Senator for Kaduna North in the April 2011 elections was later overturned by the electoral tribunal, leading to his departure from the office in 2012.
