Say goodbye De Gea, ETH finally decided to ‘break the bank’ to get Portugal’s ‘New Messiah’

After Liverpool got Cody Gakpo, Manchester United could show how much money they have by paying a record amount for goalkeeper Diogo Costa.

It looks like United has been thinking about whether or not to sign Costa for a while. In fact, it has been known for a while that they like the Porto keeper.

The month of October saw the beginning of speculations that the goalkeeper would be moving to Old Trafford.

It’s easy to see why Manchester United wants to sign Costa. He has already been the starting goalkeeper for Portugal’s national team since he was 23 years old.

In fact, no one ever scored more than one goal against him in a single game the whole time he was in the competition. Even though he had a nerve-wracking moment against Ghana, his team still won the first game of the tournament.

It’s likely that the goalie’s play at the club level is one of the main reasons why United and other teams are interested in him.

During the previous season, he played in 33 league games and gave up just 22 goals, which was the lowest total in the league. He had a total of 15 clean sheets over the course of the season.

This term has gone on in a way that is similar to how the last one did. So far, Costa has kept a clean sheet in six of the 13 Liga Portugal games he has played. This means that he and the Porto defense have kept the other team from scoring in more than half of their games.

It appears that David De Gea will likely give Diego Costa the opportunity to replace him as Manchester United’s starting goalkeeper. He possesses the necessary expertise as well as years of experience.

It has been said that Erik ten Hag would be pleased for the Portuguese player to join the club if that were to happen.

Even though De Gea’s contract is currently being discussed, there is a possibility that he will be replaced sooner rather than later. According to AS, a number of Manchester United players have “exercised” their contract options in order to receive an automatic one-year extension to their current deals.

United doesn’t seem to have a problem keeping him at the club, but not at his current salary of £375,000 per week. They would rather see him take a pay cut of £100,000 than keep him at his current salary.

It looks like this is the most important problem with the new deal. If De Gea doesn’t want to sign a new deal at Old Trafford, he will be free to leave at the end of the current season.

AS stated that based on the information that they had, United would “go for the signing of him.” According to the Associated Press, that signing has a good chance of being profitable and “may potentially break the transfer record” for a goalie. This would be a significant accomplishment.

According to various reports, the buyout price for his company is somewhere between £65 million and £100 million. Kepa Arrizabalaga was purchased by Chelsea for approximately £70 million, making the club the current holder of the record for the most expensive goalkeeper signing in history.

It wouldn’t shock me if United paid something in the neighborhood of that amount for Costa. It is possible that United will be able to demonstrate their financial stability if they take this course of action.

Because Manchester United has never struggled financially, the fact that Cristiano Ronaldo is leaving the club means that the organization will no longer have to be concerned about how it will pay his salary.

Given that they were unable to secure Gakpo’s services, it is possible that they will choose to invest a significant amount of money in order to demonstrate that they can convince significant players to join the club.
